Since time immemorial, an organization known as the "Nightblade" has acted as guardians in the so-called "Empty Night".
Resting from her eternal labors in an unremarkable town, the Princess of the Nightblade, Lynn, meets a boy named Hyde, who has the legendary sword of doom, which she has been looking for everywhere.
In the Hollow Night, the monsters called the Hollows feed on the power that manifests there, while those known as the Innate use the same power for their own purposes. While investigating the cause of the sudden increase in both Hollows and Newborns in the Hollow Night, Lynn hears of a sinister plot hatched by someone calling himself "Paradox".
The man turns out to be none other than Hilda, the leader of a shady organization known as "Amnesia". Vowing to stop the Paradox before her nefarious plans can come true, Lynn departs into the Night.
Unbeknownst to her, a young boy she met, Hyde, follows her with a desperate need to know who and what she is. Thus begins the story of Hollow Night and births.
